Instinct solar Powers off randomly

My watch has just started to power off randomly which bothers me cause I can't get it to turn back on without plugging it in to charge which it don't need to charge as I have just charged it or it has enough power for at leat 10 or more days.  What can I do to make it work?

  • My instinct solar has started to also switch itself off when I go to record an activity even with more than 60% power. I wonder is a software issue as it powers back on with the powered button and stays on but if I try to record an activity off it goes again. 

  • Frustrating issue with this Instinct Solar randomly powering off.  I've been dealing with it for a few months now.  Like others, I'm waiting for a software update that will correct this problem, not an answer like "I'm sorry there is an issue".  I believe there are enough people that have commented on this issue that Garmin should do more than apologize!  I'm another one whose watch is out of warranty, and after spending a few hundred dollars for this, feel like it should last more than a couple of years, and should be resolved by Garmin!  I love the watch and all it's features, but do not appreciate having to restart it, typically a couple times every morning.  Yes, I've done the reset as well, hasn't worked!  Please step up your game, Garmin, and give us a fix for this issue!

  • Looking through the various posts i cant really see any useful comments from Garmin nor any admission that there is an issue - really disappointing given they must know there is a design issue here. 

  • Same here. The problem first occurred about 2 months ago. Now the watch powers off during pretty much every (longer) activity

  • Garmin. Can you please provide the software for a firmware DOWNGRADE yes DOWNGRADE from about 2 months ago!!!! Your latest firmware UPGRADE has made everyone’s watch useless!!!!!!!! I spent over $450 for a watch that hasn’t lasted 2 years and its SOLAR!!!!!!!! Just like the first Garmin watch i had previously, I returned it to this shop and got a refund.

  • It is neither rare or uncommon.  I am completely frustrated with this issue and garmin.  As you believe it  uncommon I am making it a point to mention this issue as many places I can review the watch. Thank you for ignoring a problem  on an expensive purchase

  • I've tried the hard reset, it doesn't work, my instinct is now turning itself off more frequently, it only seems to do it whilst recording an activity and is extremely frustrating, Garmin don't seem to be minding any attention to this issue, I've been a customer for years and use multiple Garmin devices but this lack of support is making me question future purchases.
