Chance to have an upgrade to Instinct original?

Hi,

simple question: do we have a chance to see some serious upgrade to original instinct based on those new features on instinct 2?? it is VERY DISAPPOINTING that things like backcountry ski activity is not available on original model... for example.

Careful what you wish for. Apple pushes the latest “features” of each iOS iteration to old devices until the older hardware gets overwhelmed by the new software “features” and the device is rendered useless. I have an old iPad which was once snappy that can now barely browse websites now that it’s in the latest iOS.

Garmin takes a different approach where they add some features (body battery was added to og instinct) but work to achieve long term stability.

It’s fair to feel some jealousy for the newer releases, but it’s also good to appreciate the device you have and how powerful (and for the most part) stable it is.

In truth, Garmin owes us nothing beyond the original hardware and software, but they overdelivered with multiple software iterations and some nice feature adds like body battery.
