Step counter / HR sensor stopped working!? Garmin Instinct

Hello everybody.

I've been using my Garmin Instinct since 2020 without any issue.

Today, for no specific reason, the step counter together with the HR sensor stopped working, while the smartwatch keeps working.

Does anybody have an idea of what could be the problem? It seems also that the light behind the watch is always off.

I am sorry you are having issues.

Please try the following:

Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off

Hard Reset: Hold down your top left power button until your watch shuts off then let go once off

Factory Master Reset: How to Reset My Garmin Outdoor Watch

Turn your OHR sensor status off then on again in the Settings > Sensors & Accessories > Wrist Heart Rate after the full reset. If neither sensor are fully working again, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

Las week it happened to me exactly the same, I made several hard reset of my Instinct 1 that was just the perfect buy, but no results. Is it possible to restore old version of software ? and how ?

I am sorry you have the issue. If the full reset did not work, you can try one other reset but if the step does not work to get your OHR sensor to work again, there are no further steps you can try to resolve it. I hope your watch starts working again for you.
