Instinct Solar - heartrate widget will not continuously display data from wireless heartrate sensor

I have the Instinct Solar and use the Polar Sense armband heartrate monitor.
The wrist heartrate monitor is disabled.
How do I get the Sense heartrate displayed continuously in the heartrate widget?
Currently the heartrate is displayed in the widget for a few seconds when first activated but then it disappears.
The Sense heartrate is used correctly in all other aspects of the watch. It's just the widget where there seems to be some glitch.

    You have to start an activity to use any type of external HRM.  Is this your case or are you starting an activity and still not getting continuous HR readings?

    Hi

    Yes it is the same when I start an activity like running.

    All the heart rate stats for the run are there when I have finished.

    But during the activity on the home screen in the heart rate widget the heart rate is displayed for a few seconds after the activity is started but then it changes to just "--" for the rest of the activity.

    Any ideas?
