Strap band with clasp

Since Garmin does not offer strap band with clasp, I had to do it myself.

Isn't it nice?
Well, it is not.
If somebody knows any better solution, let me know...

  • There are all sorts of third-party bands for Garmin available on sites like Amazon, eBay, AliExpress. They come in all varieties including clasp. The one I bought a year ago is infinitely-adjustable. (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33003858299.html)

Although the Instinct's band is attached with collapsing pins, it will also accept Garmin QUICKFIT compatible 22mm wide bands.

  • But the sense is to have a foldable band, which I can get loose, while riding a bike, to dry my hand, and then clasp the band back, and do all that blindly with one hand. So your example is not acceptable for me.
And metal band would look really strange with the Instinct...
  • 1. The link I provided is just an example of what I bought. You can find many other bands of all types and colors on the sites I mentioned.

    2. The clasp on the band I linked to can be opened and closed with one hand. But even if you don't like that design there are many with the same sort of clasp design as your hacked band.

    3. I have a black Instinct. The band I bought is also black. The two look they were made for each other. Your Instinct and band are a combination of pastel plastic and black. The silver clasp matches neither.

    4. Your design makes it impossible to adjust the band length. Many third party bands allow the band length to be adjusted, for instance as the wrist swells in hot weather. A fixed length band that's comfortable at room temperature can become uncomfortably tight in hot weather.

    5. You asked for a "better solution" without explaining what problem you were trying to address. You shouldn't be surprised that responders can't read your mind.
