Wrong distance over globe

Does anybody know, why Instinct shows distance to the other side of globe about 17700km, while it should be about 20000?

(GPS-Navigate-Coordinates/Saved locations-Details)

I really like how the instinct solar always shaves +10% off of my travels ;-D A real time and money saver.

But... I wouldn't know. It's indeed ~2300 km short of the actual distance, but ~5000 km longer…
