Can I use my new Instinct as the Heart Beat Rate sensor on my bike trainer using Rouvy. Do I put it in phone pairing mode to do this?

I am not sure we have communicated. Is "Broadcast" a bluetooth activity? My trainer does not capture OHR. I am asking if the Instinct that connects via bluetooth to my phone can connect to Rouvy…
This information is misleading.
The information was not misleading in that time. The information is just outdated. The broadcasting over BT was added to Instinct in one of later firmware updates…
On an Instinct watch, in your Settings > Sensors & Accessories > Wrist Heart Rate menu for your OHR sensor, you can "Broadcast" your heart rate to another Garmin product such as an Edge Cycling GPS but it will not broadcast to your Bike Trainer w/Rouvy.
I am not sure we have communicated. Is "Broadcast" a bluetooth activity? My trainer does not capture OHR. I am asking if the Instinct that connects via bluetooth to my phone can connect to Rouvy on my laptop with blue tooth enabled. Rouvy picks up the trainer ANT data through another bluetooth connection.
I will be happy to clarify and give more detail:
- Your Instinct watch OHR broadcast ability only uses ANT+ and works with other specific Garmin Devices such as the Cycling GPS Edge series newer models.
- Even though your Instinct connects to your Android or iPhone using Bluetooth to interact with Garmin Official APPS and to receive smart notifications from your phone, your Instinct watch will not send your OHR sensor heart rate information through Bluetooth to your trainer or any other 3rd party APP.
Thanks! That was clearer.
This information is misleading. I have successfully connected my Instinct watch with Rouvy on my pc using Bluetooth. Once the watch is set in broadcast mode Rouvy automatically sees it. Both my Wahoo trainer and my watch are connected via Bluetooth on my 2012 Dell Inspiron.
