Auto pause, manual pause and battery life

Hi,

Does anyone know if:

1) If activity is auto-paused, will it drain the battery the same as during the activity? I suspect that it will still use battery substantially, because (I think) the GPS signal is still being evaluated

2) The same question but with manual pause in mind

You are correct. In both of your scenario questions, your watch remains in connection with GPS so you can resume at any point and continue immediately with your GPS course and metrics being recorded.
