Watch face step graph stuck every day

Hi. I've had my Instinct for about a year now, and for as long as I've had it, the step graph on the watch face has been bugged.

Every day at a certain time, the graph gets stuck until midnight when it resets. Nothing seems to get it unstuck either: changing watch faces, restarting the watch, resetting it. Between somewhere in the afternoon and midnight the graph is just stuck.

Other people on Reddit are also encountering this issue. Is this something Garmin is aware of? Can we expect a fix at some point?

This is never getting fixed, is it? I wish there was at least a way to hide the graph entirely, as it is useless a third of the time.

I am sorry the freezing issue has not been resolved. The step graph data field on your Instinct Solar can also be changed to a variety of other data fields such as your OHR sensor heart rate, altimeter readings, etc.

I would like to see my step count though, and not these other fields. Sadly, this bug is still decidedly unresolved in current firmware. Very disappointing, when the step graph was shown in all the advertising material. It's still plain broken.

Same problem here with a Garmin Instinct 2S that I bought a month ago (June 2023). Updated to the latest firmware version available (12.25), not solved.

Step graph on the watch face freezes every day at 16:00 (4 p.m.). Very frustrating.

Is there any solution to this?

I am sorry you have the issue. Going back 2+ years ago when the issue was first reported, it has been very rarely reported since. When we looked into the behavior, we were not able to replicate it on other Instinct watches. There are a couple of steps you can try.

Please try the following:

- Soft reset your watch by holding down your top left CTRL button until your watch shuts off then let go.

I had tried the soft reset before but to no effect.

As for the reset to default, will I lose all the customizations and settings I have already made on the device (installed apps, widgets, data screens fields, display order, etc)? I don't think it's worth it if I'm not sure it will solve the problem, unless I can recover the current device customizations in the Garmin Connect app after the reset to default. Do you know if it is possible to restore the current customizations of the Instinct 2S after its reset to default, somehow?
