GPS and SET buttons don't click anymore.

Hello,

I know that this topic was mentioned many times, but today I decided to contact customer support in my country (Poland) and ask, if they could take care of "sticky GPS and SET buttons".

I've already tried to clean it with water and soap (many times), usually that helped, but this time it brings no results.

Service consultant said, that this is common, this is the result of the using device for nearly 2 years, and they can do nothing about it, until buttons stop doing what they suppose to do.

Here is my question: Has the Garmin Warranty Policy been changed or has anyone experienced same answer lately?

Thank you in advance and best regards

  • I am sorry you are having issues with sticky buttons. I am going to disagree with the button issues being common. In many years with Garmin, I rarely exchange a watch for a button issue.

In general, even when a buttons 'feels' different when pressing it, more than not, the button will continue to work great for many more years. A watch only needs to be replaced for a bad button when the buttons stick in place and cleaning does not resolve it, they do not respond when pressed, or the button literally falls out of the housing.

  • Thank you Chris for quick response!

Your answer is coincident (in terms of reason to get a replacement) with both answers I've received today (Seller and Service side).

I just wanted to compare other user's experience, as I've seen at this forum, that mamy people has more luck with getting replacement with just mushy buttons.

Once again: thank you for explanation.
