Garmin Instinct Solar - Battery level showing battery saver symbol, not days

Recently my Instinct Solar started showing the battery saver symbol    next to the battery instead of the days remaining.  I did not push any buttons.  The only thing I did was charge my watch in the sun.  I noticed the days jumped from 20 to 317.  After I started and stopped and activity, the battery showed the "saver symbol".

I have made sure the battery saver is turned off.  I've also turned the watch off and on, and charged it fully.  It still has that symbol.  What can I do to get the days remaining back?  I would prefer not to have to do a factory reset.

Thank you

  • ∞ means you can run the watch indefinitely without plugging it to the charger (assuming the current level of solar input, and the current consumption remain the same), so I do not quite understand why you'd like to get rid of it. It is a rather positive sign, not having to charge.

BTW, there is also an Instinct Solar forum. This one is for the non-solar version - on the Solar forum you have more chance to get the help from people owning the same device.
