These are 2 images of the watch, after 2000 and 8000 steps respectively... But there is no difference in the graph.
The steps graph reflects the hours of the day when your steps were recorded consistently enough to reflect a bar representation. The OHR sensor graph and the Altimeter graph are much more representative in my experiences wearing my Instinct. I personally don't find the steps graph overly useful since total steps are only needed to reach goals.
If your steps graph stops providing bars, please soft reset your Instinct by holding down your top left CTRL button until your Instinct shuts off, then let go.
As I've commented in other threads, the watch face step graph has been broken for years. It gets stuck at a certain time of every day (16:00 for me) until it resets at midnight. Step count still updates, but not the graph.
Garmin doesn't care. They've already moved all their OG Instinct stock and moved on.
