Inaccurate BPM's between left and right wrists

The past few days I have been consistently tracking my HIIT cardio workouts on my Instinct watch. I normally wear my watch on my left wrist.

I noticed that the BPM readings are extremely inaccurate. My BPM would slowly climb to around 130-140bpm, and then suddenly drop to around 60-80bpm for at least 10 minutes. Then back up, but not nearly as high as I can manually count.

Today, I put my watch on my right wrist, and then put my brother's Instinct Solar on my left wrist to compare. The readings on my watch on my right wrist are accurate and stay high throughout my workout, however the Solar on my left does the same thing where it drops after it reaches 130-140bpm and stays around 80bpm.

To be exact, at the worst during my workout, my right wrist (Instinct) was registering 148bpm, while my left wrist (Instinct Solar) was registering 79bpm.

I understand there is an inaccuracy with wrist based heart rate monitors, however a discrepancy of up to a factor of 2 is absolutely ridiculous, and renders the monitor useless.

And yes, the watch is set to the correct wrist in the Settings menu. Yes I wash my watch after every workout with soap and water, wipe it dry, and then leave it to air dry completely before putting it back on. I also wear the watch snug, not tight, but not so loose that the sensor shoots all over the place.

Any suggestions?
