GUPDATE.GCD

Does anybody know if we are supposed to have the GUPDATE.GCD file in the \Garmin\DEBUG directory? It represents 3MB of space sitting there, and being on that directory seems awkward. Maybe it is just me that has it there? (Afraid of deleting it, I am :) )

It can be safely deleted. Not sure how it even ended up there. A bit odd but it can be deleted. (For any other customer that sees this thread. It can be deleted from the \Garmin\Debug folder. Do not delete…

99.99% of the time, you will never need to delete the gupdate.gcd file like the creator of this thread will do. It only needs to be deleted if you are manually loading Beta software releases…

I'd bet it was accidentally dropped there, when trying to install a beta version. Happened to me already too, that I accidentally dropped it into the wrong folder.

Thanks for the explanation. Will this file be deleted automatically in the next release? Or do we have to go in and explicitly delete it?

It only needs to be deleted if you are manually loading Beta software releases to your Instinct and you accidentally copy and pasted the gupdate file into the wrong folder of your Instinct.
