The temperature window keeps showing --°

The temperature indicator stopped at 2° for more than a day, after I restarted the watch the temperature window is now showing only --° .

  • Which one? The internal sensor, or the weather widget? In the first case, your sensor hub firmware may be dammaged (or the hardware malfunctioned). In the second case, there may be a problem with the weather service (wrong location, missing permissions, rupture of service from the local weather data provider, no connection to the web, dysfuncitonal syncing, ...)

  • Thanks @trux

I'm not using the the weather widget, the problem seems to come from internal sensor, can a hard reset solve the issue ?

You can try, but if the sensor hub upgrade failed, then you typically need to reinstall the sensor hub software. I'd try a simple soft-reset (hold the Light button for +15s untill the watch shuts down, and the turn it back on again). If you see no change, try the master reset. If still no change, reinstall the sensor hub firmware - it is contained in some of the beta version packages, or ask the Support to send you a copy.

  • Thanks again.

The temp is back after the soft-reset. Is there difference between keeping the light button for 15 sec and selecting power-off in the scroll options ?

It looks that yes, but I do not think anyone here knows what the difference exactly is. I'd tell that the simple off/on is similar to hibernating and waking up a computer, while the soft reset is more like a full reboot. Master reset is then more like a fresh install of an OS, if we want to compare it to a PC.

  • Yeah, I've got this issue once a week now (temperature widget is flat and barometer readings too). Sometimes helps a resetting a device, sometimes helps to install beta software or even a few times a row to restart a device but what I noticed is that when I removed a temperature widget (not weather) this issue is less often than before when temperature widget is turned on in the menu.
The support team told me that it can be going to failure a barometer sensor and they want to replace a device, really it can be a dying sensor? Before official firmware 11.0 works fine, after updating to 12.20 this issue still is coming back.
