V02 Max

I 10000% get that the Instinct is NOT a running watch like the 945, 745 etc. But, the Instinct is an outdoor watch, like the Fenix series but the smaller sibling. The Fenix 6 line now has V02 Max for trail running. Workout profiles for this watch include “Trail Running”. I think it would be smart for Garmin to have V02 Max for Trail Running on this watch now.

Ano before people say you can upload your runs to run analyze, they can’t factor in the fact that it’s a trail run. My V02 is more than 25 (according to Runanylze).

Instinct does not have any VO₂max functionality, and it was already confirmed by Garmin staff here on the forum that there are no plans implementing it. If you need it, then Instinct is not the right watch for you. You may have a look for example at the new Garmin Enduro, if you need a watch comparable to Instinct but with the VO₂max functionality.

There was probably no plans to have Trail Running V02 Max on the Fenix line, but they added it. Enduro is not comparable to the Instinct - it’s literally $600 more (starting at $799). It would be better to recommend a Fenix 5x which can be had for around $400. But I digress.

I meant comparable in functionality, not in price - lightweight, long battery life, and well rugged. F5 is not bad either, of course, though for an outdoor enthusiast, the Enduro may be attractive anyway.
