Instinct freezes (v12.20)

Since 10 days I have an Instinct.

The latest software (v12.20) is installed.

Untill now I experienced at least once a day that the watch froze, the time stood still and it helped to press ctrl and set. After that everything worked normal and even the steps made during the freeze were counted.

Also it happened 2 times that pressing ctrl didn't help and I had to power off and on again. Now the steps made during the freeze were not counted.

To be honest I am very disappointed about this.

I really like the watch and it's possibilities but I can't accept a watch (with this price) that freezes every time.

I am thinking about returning it (still possible for some weeks).

Is there any possibility that another Instinct don't have these issues? Or should I go for another watch/wearable?

I prefer to continue with Garmin as I allready have 5 years of data in my Garmin app ;-)

Not sure how it is for others, but personally I did not experience any freezing at the v12.20 (and have installed it the first day it was released as beta PR candidate)

I had one freeze (recoverable with GPS-SET) with 12.20 a few hours ago. This problem appeared a couple of OS versions ago and is still around. :( Hopefully, it will disappear the same way it appeared: suddenly, with an OS upgrade.

Same here (v12.20).

Sometimes the instinct freezes if I press a button.

If I long press CRTL and restat the instinct the funktionalitiy is normal.

This happened now treetimes in a week.

This is the theard one of the device in the warranty time but now the warranty time is over and I hope it is a software problem.

Altough I was very happy with the Instinct I decided to send it back and get a refund from the webshop.

I just can't accept that a watch freezes, especially not a watch with this price.

I am wearing my Vivosmart 4 again and I will wait untill I'm sure the firmware of the Instinct is ok. Then I'll definately think about purchasing the Instinct again...It really is a very nice watch...

Also experienced v12.20.0.0 freeze with similar symptoms - Middle of night (3:36am) watch stopped responding to any keypress except Light and display not updated.

Recovery via VERY slow Connect recognized session, resync & reboot.

It might be useful to communicate that to the Garmin team. I do not think they read this forum trying to detect problems to solve. It is probably better to send them the problem directly. I already sent a mail to the beta team, but heard nothing back (and do not expect to hear).
