analogue watch faces - quirks & suggestion

Of the six built-in watch faces provided with the Instinct - two are in an analogue style:

  • the first has a (mostly) single digit 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 style
  • the second has a double digit 03 / 06 / 09 / 12 style

Both these watch faces have four customisable fields (circle display + the 3 & 9 o'clock positions and the area above the 6 o'clock position).

Quirks

  • the black background double digit style has slightly larger numerals at the 3 & 6 o'clock positions compared with the 9 & 12 o'clock positions
  • in all analogue styles there is a boxed date field available for the 6 o'clock position which weirdly overlaps the 6 / 06 o'clock

Suggestion

Initially I had (incorrectly) assumed that the double digit style would change for 24 hour (or military) time. Alas not.

How about a simple feature for 24 hour time where the hour marks change?

  • 03 / 06 / 09 / 12 for time between 00:00 - 11:59 (ie same as current)
  • 15 / 18 / 21 / 00 for time between 12:00 - 23:59 (only for 24 hour mode)

I'm sure the 24 hour people among us would find this useful.
