I've had an Instinct for 3 months and I love this thing, everything about it.

I've taken up running and when I saw a Forerunner 245 on sale it seemed like a good buy.  Now that I have the two watches side by side I see all the extra functionality that the 245 gives me.  But I much prefer the look and style of the instinct.  I even prefer the simple b/w LCD display.

Any plans to release a more up-specced version of the Instinct?  even just music would be amazing

Keep up the good work, I can't believe how good both of these watches are

    I am glad to hear you love both watches. Given the price point of both your Instinct and FR245, they are both a good value for what is built into them.

    You have a nice idea and anything is certainly possible in the future with new Instinct models. One thought direction I go is the base price point of an Instinct watch and how much would the price gap narrow between an Instinct and Fenix as more and more gets added. The newer released Instinct Solar, depending on which model, is within $150-$200 of the base Fenix 6 watch.

    I enjoy wearing both my Instinct and Fenix 6 and I swap between them during the week.

    Thanks for the speedy reply Chris.

    I didnt actually see that the instinct solar has a few more fitness features.  It looks good.  Music is a real killer feature for me though.

    If I'd realised quite how much I enjoy the Garmin eco-system then I would probably have just jumped straight to a Fenix, as I now have two watches, and I'd really prefer just one that can do everything (Fenix). 

    The main reason that the Instinct will remain my daily wear is that I really like the simple styling of it, I even prefer the low-res screen and find it much easier to read in the sun, especially when driving

    Whatever watch I buy next will most likely be a Garmin, but it probably won't be for a couple of years now, so I'll keep an eye out for future developments with baited breath

    Hey Chris I was just looking at the same upcoming watches for 2022 and it made me think of this post. I ended up selling both instinct and 245 and buying a fenix 6x.  This thing is unreal. Best piece of tech I have ever owned.
