Garmin Instinct not receiving firmware updates via Garmin Connect Android App

Hi, Does anyone know why my Garmin Instinct is not receiving any firmware updates via Garmin Connect Android app when I sync the device? The only alternative is to use Garmin Express, however that is only available for Mac or PC, but I only have access to a Chromebook!

You can install the latest Beta v10.72 manually, without Garmin Express, just by copying the file over USB cable to the watch:

FWIW I seemed to go a long time without an update, then the ransomware hit, making the chance of an update even less likely.

And now I just discovered today that I'm on 10.10. No idea when that happened.

I don't think you can "force" the firmware update by syncing. Assuming you don't want to install manually, I think you just have to wait for the updates to be gradually rolled out.

Thanks, I also seem to be on 10.10 from today.

Garmin Connect Web version has been telling me for a while that 10.10 was available but my instinct was stuck on 8.7.

In the Garmin Connect Android App, I discovered the "Device Sync Audit" which, each time I synced, said that the download failed because there wasn't enough storage space on the device. I deleted a load of course and old activities, and then the update to 10.10 was successful.

Whether that was due to me deleting stuff or not, I don't really know!

Device Sync Audit...nice find there. Never noticed that before. Good to know.
