Hi. I have a Garmin instinct. Does it show lap times? I just want to go for a run and have it display as I’m running.
You can see current lap time and previous lap time - all you need to do is add apropriate data fields to activity screen 
you can configure the run activity to use back button as lap button and you can use it to start new lap during activity. Alternatively you can go to activity settings and setup autolap based on distance or time
