Resume Later

My son's Instinct is on the latest beta firmware. We went backpacking this weekend, and when we arrived at camp, we used the Resume LAter function on our watches (my F6X, his Instinct) to exit the activity for the night, to resume in the morning. Mine worked fine. His, on the other hand, kept going back into the activity's pause screen after a few minutes, and buzzing that "GPS is ready". He'd hit resume later again, and a few minutes later it's back in the activity pause screen and buzzing that "GPS is ready" again. Endless loop. Let it sit there on the pause screen for over an hour, thinking maybe it would time out and go away, but it didn't.

He ended up just saving the activity, and starting a new one the next day, so the watch wouldn't keep going back into the activity pause screen all night.

Anyone else experiencing that?

As a workaround you can use www.fitfiletools.com/ and merge the different activities. I understand that it would save a lot of hassle if it worked as it is supposed to but at least there is a way to have…

I use the Resume Later option on my Istinct almost daily, but never observed this behaviour. I am currently on the beta v9.95 Are you sure you selected the option Resume Later, and not just the first available option Resume (it times out after 2 minutes)?

Me too a couple of times and maybe more while the watch was on 9.91 but I thought I pressed the button by mistake. I definetely had selected Resume Later

Definitely sure I selected Resume Later, I also use this function a lot on my F6X. I even took the watch off his wrist and pressed Resume Later and set the watch on a rock to be sure he wasn't just hitting the button on accident, but sure enough the activity pause menu would pop up again after a couple minutes, every time.

Mine does this also. But, it's more like 30min or more before it bugs me to resume.

Update: 8 months and several firmware updates later, he gave it a try again last weekend, and it still has the same exactly problem:

Using the resume later function isn't working how it's supposed to. After a short period of time, the pause menu opens back up and the watch buzzes saying "GPS ready", every time.

Currently the only solution we've found is to save/end the activity, and start a new one later.
