After saving a GPS track what is the best way to plot onto a sort of map?

The simplest is using Garmin Connect Mobile, or Garmin Connect Web. Or also Garmin Explore. If you are looking for an external program, then there are hundreds of the available both online, or as applications for diverse OS platforms. The most known is Google Maps or Google Earth, but there are really big quantities off apps able to read GPX tracks.

That's I looked at connect did not see a way of doing that. How would you do it in connect?  If possible how also in Google maps?

Oh also, is there a way to download the gpx file from connect?

In the moment the Activity was recorded with a GPS track, you do not need to do anything - the track is being plotted automatically when you open the Activity page.

Yes, on the page of the Activity in Garmin Connect Web click the cogwheel symbol in the upper right corner and select the GPX export.

Ah I did see that before.  All looks sweet but I do not have a cogwheel only 3 hamburger dots but no options to download.
