Garmin Solar (2020 version) - Sensor Location?

Hi,

I just found out there is a new 2020 version of the Garmin Instinct Solar. I was hoping they moved the placement of the baraometric sensor to the side like the fenix instead of under the watch where it can get inaccurate readings from sweat.

Does anyone know if they moved it or if it is in the same place?

Yep. It Is a pity. A wasted opportunity to correct what I would classify as the biggest design problem of this great watch.

Yeah, another shame is why make version 2.0 the same storage space of 16... I thought they would have upgraded it to 32 mb's to hold more activity files.

Officially it is actually not a version 2.0 of Instinct. Simply Instinct Solar Not sure whether any v2 is in works, though.

Yes, that's what many do. However a duct tape may also prevent or slow down the proper transfer of the atmospheric pressure to the sensor. Better would be something elastic, or perhaps a mesh. On the other side, it looks like those using a piece of duct tape were happy with the results, so you can try it anyway.

Oh, thanks for sharing. Pla or abs? Any optimal print settings (layer thickness for example)

I have done it with ABS but you can try it also with PLA.

Layer thickness about 0.1 mm and print speed about 40 mm/s.
