I respect your opinion, but I have to ask. Did you buy your Instinct because it fit your needs and your price range, or did you buy it for what it might do in the future? Also, you may want to remove your full name, email address and phone number from this thread. Unfortunately, there are people out there who may use it for negative purposes. Scheduled obsolescence.

It would be a scheduled obsolescence only if Instinct started to lose functionality over time, and you could not use it in the way you could, when you you purchased it. In fact the opposite is true - new fixes, features, and functions are continuously being added to the old version of Instinct with every new firmware release.

Obrigado pela correção, foi um erro usar o termo obsolescência programada. A garmin corrige os bugs e atende as reclamações de usuários. Eu retiro o que disse e peco desculpas. Mas ainda acho que o garmin instinct primeira versão comporta widgets e funções do garmin instinct tactical, e penso que isso não é justo com o consumidor.

But I still think that the garmin instinct first version includes/supports widgets and functions of the garmin instinct tactical, and I think that is not fair to the consumer.

Personally, I see no unfairness. It would be unfair if the product description, in the time you purchased the device, promised the features you want to have added, or if it promissed that the functionality is going to be continually enhanced. I never saw any such claims in the product description. You've got what you've paid for. In fact you've got more, because as you know, new features are being added, despite that there was no such promise in the past (Body Battery being one of the most noticeable enhancements, never promised).

 Obrigado por me lembrar do BodyBatery, é um exemplo que a garmim dá conta de atualizar o garmim instinct primeira versão e colocar novas Watch Faces, Steath mode, etc. Olha, eu respeito o seu ponto de vista, é assim q o mundo gira... Mas acho, que esse artificio de lançar um produto idêntico a versão passada, com um nome novo no vidro, náo é um artificio de marketing legal, não seria ético também, mas relativizam muito a ético nos dias de hoje. Mas essa é apenas minha opinião.

Uma pergunta, vc tem algum garmin instinct?

It looks like you did not read the specifications of the new Instinct. It definitely is not an identical product. It has a different hardware - from what is known, minimally the GPS chip is different, the HR sensor, added PuseOx sensor, added transparent solar panel, and possibly other hardware changes not immediately apparent, since nobody disassambled and comapred both models yet.

Yes, I do have the old Instinct, and when I purchased it, I studied well its specifications, and have chosen it beause I agreed with the offer. Its price was more than fair for the multitude of features it offered, and I never expected Garmin to continue adding more features to it. So it is only a good surprise to me that Garmin indeed continues improving the product.

 Resumindo: Garmin 1 = Garmin Tactical (sensores iguais, hardware igual, chip gps igual).

Garmin 1 ≠ Garmin Tactical SOLAR (sensores diferentes, hardware diferente, chip gps diferente).

A PARTIR DESSE EQUAÇAO chego a conclusão, o garmin tactical (≠do tactical solar) foi um artificio não muito ético da garmin para lucrar.

 Se vc tem o instinct 1 edicao, e nao percebeu isso, eu parabenizo, gostaria de ser indiferente quanto à postura desrespeitosa da Garmin, mas nao consigo. Obrigado pelas mensagens.
