It is the expected behaviour. How else would yu want to turn the light on for example in a dark room during the day? The setting has an impact on the auto-light on by the gesture only, not on the function of the light button.
It's not expected behavior to have it turn on during the day. It's set to ON after sunset but it's not after sunset it's turning on during the day.
Reread my message and think about it a bit. If you completely turn off the light button during the day, you'll not be able to see the display at all even if you are in a dark room. As I wrote, the setting influences the gesture auto-on function, not the button, so it is the expected behaviour.
Ummm with the Instinct you can see the display fine without back light during the day. If I am in a dark room then I just press the "light" button to see it manually.
I am talking about the blue light that illuminates it. What is the point to "turn on after sunset" if it always turns on?
I should add the undesired behavior just started. It never turned on by itself during the with a key press.
I kind of feel like it's a bug and confused about if it's currently sun up or down.
Ok, I misunderstood your original query. I thought you were complaining about the light going on after pressing the light button, which did not make any sense.
No worries thanks for trying to assist.
That is probably not it, but keep in mind that you have different settings for "During an activity" and "Not during an activity." Is it possible that maybe an activity is running in the background and therefore the "During an activity" settings are being used (and maybe those always allow the backlight on keypress)?
Not likey I had both active and bon active set to after sunset.
Ok the reason was the sun times were wrong as I had not aquired GPS position. Once I did sun times are accurate and the feature is working correctly.
