How to retrieve the coordinates of saved locations?

Hi,

I've been saving the location of a few points of interest with my Instinct and I'd like to retrieve the coordinates to use on other devices (4x4 or boat GPS) or simply see them on a map on my desktop (or even share them).

I know they are saved on my watch because I can see them in the "navigate to" mode, but how do I access or download them??

What about Navigate-Saved Locations-...-Details ? (You have to have Navigate activity selected)

Or you can download GARMIN\Location\Lctns.fit file and let it convert to GPX Waypoint for instance here:…

What about Navigate-Saved Locations-...-Details ? (You have to have Navigate activity selected)

Or you can download GARMIN\Location\Lctns.fit file and let it convert to GPX Waypoint for instance here: https://www.alltrails.com/converter

The .gpx contains readable coordinates. Some maps (like https://mapy.cz/ ) are able to show points contained in the converted Lctns.gpx .

I think installing Garmin Explore would work. The saved locations would sync with it as "waypoints".

I use Basecamp to move saved waypoints/locations back and forth between my Instinct and GPSMap 64. One is also able to view the waypoint locations on the map, edit waypoint information, or delete.

I know this thread is 3 years old - but wondering if anyone knows if your 'saved coordinates' can be retrieved or viewed on the desktop/computer app? connect.garmin.com ?

Was wondering if they can be viewed on a map withing Garmins (non-device) eco system?

Yes, using Garmin Explore. No, using Garmin Connect.

You can also use Basecamp (PC/Mac based). Just don't use both because Explore and Basecamp don't seem to be compatible when you try to manage waypoints.
