Navigating a course- questions

Hi,

So today I got out and tried navigating with my instinct. Last night I saved coordinates and created a course. I have a few questions I have tried to google but cannot find answers for.

When I set off today using the course I plotted the direction arrow was pointing the opposite way but the distance to the waypoint was going down? I know I was walking the right way but if I followed the arrow I would have been lost.

sometimes you cannot always perfectly hit a waypoint to 0m so how do you skip to the next waypoint on the course?

When the arrow did point in the right direction suddenly it went from 1.2 miles to between a figure of 0-100 for some reason? Why did it drop the distance all of a sudden and stop navigating me?

When I put a single coordinate in and didn’t use the course the navigating worked perfectly fine.

What is the difference between bearing and course? Am I right I’m saying when using a course I need it set to course otherwise the arrow will point to the destination instead of the next waypoint like on my first question?
