Hi,
Did the firmware update on Saturday. I ran today for ~30 minutes. After finishing my workout (30 min in Z2 - it's the official Garmin Marathon training plan part, very simple workout - just 30:00min in Z2, cooldown until lap press) I've proceeded to stop the activity. To my surprise in the resume/save menu the reported activity time was 1 hour 2 minutes (instead of 30-31 minutes, since I stopped almost exactly after finishing the Z2 interval and did not do any cooldown). After saving the workout the time is indeed 1 hour and every other metric is broken (pace is twice as slow etc). I manually changed the activity to be 30:12 (rough guess how many seconds), but now I can't trust workout metrics. Did anyone else encounter that? I did a 4 and a half hour hike on sunday and everything was perfect.
Perhaps it's some kind of a UI race condition? I usually let the 'workout finished' chime to end and allow the watch to display data screens before I save, but this time I was in a hurry and hit the stop button while the chime was playing.
Below are exact steps I took:
- I finished the 30 minutes interval right in front of my home
- Garmin proceeded to 'cooldown until lap press' phase
- I hit lap button (I have the lap button configured as if on old Garmins)
- Workout finished chime
- I pressed 'GPS' button during chime to finish workout - menu already displayed wrong time in the upper left corner. I can't tell whether the time was borked during the workout since I used workout screen that only tracks heart zone and pace and HR
Edit: one more peculiar thing - I rarely run without HR chest strap - today was the day I ran with only wrist HR. I'm running plenty of thresholds runs recently so I'm really good at feeling when I'm approaching ~172 bpm. I'm in the mountiains so it's really easy to hit threshold during uphill climb. The HR sensor reported steady 1.9 zone, yet it *felt* like close to 3.5-3.9. I don't think it's related, but I'm posting any detail that might help to solve the problem
