Garmin Explore not syncing

Hi,

I'm struggling to get Garmin Explore to sync me some locations into my Instinct. Whatever I do I get 'sync failed' after trying to upload locations. I'm using firmware 6.60, although both Explore and web Garmin Connect claim there is an fw update for my Garmin (to 7.00) mobile Garmin Connect just doesn't roll it out. Since I'm not on window and out in the mountains I can't work with garmin explore. Any idea how can I force Garmin Explore to sync and not ruin my hike today? I'm super frustrated

So, updating to 7.00 fixed the issue, off for a hike!

Ok, figured out why I couldn't update. Sync diagnostic showed that device memory is full (yeah I have loads of activies). Deleting activities on the watch triggerd firmware sync. I'm assuming it was the same thing that prevented Garmin Explore sync. I'll keep you posted for future generations :D

It would be really nice if:

we could set the watch to keep activities from past N-days or N-weeks and delete older ones to prevent clutter.
we would get actionable error messages instead of digging through debug logs

By the way - first couple of attempts to sync Garmin Explore resulted in watch rebooting - so there is a possible bug there
