"Do Course in Reverse" Navigation

Has anybody had success with turn-by-turn navigation with the "Do Course in Reverse" option? Turn-by-turn works fine on a test course I set up for a short hike. But if I reverse the course and select Do Course in Reverse, the turn-by-turn indicators aren't displayed. All I seem to get is an indication that I'm "On Course".

Did you try reversing the course in Garmin Connect and sending the reversed course to the watch? The option is available in the edit menu after you select the Edit option at the course.

My route disappears if I try do course in reverse.

- No, I didn't have. When I succeeded in the turn-by-turn navigation, if I use the "Do Course in Reverse", the turn-by-turn navigation didn't work.

I think that there are some hints/notifications in the .fit file (something like "next important turn at point x"), and so it cannot work in reverse.

Yes, reversing the course in GC and syncing to watch does work. Prior to an activity, I'll have to remember to sync two courses to allow the flexibility to nav in either direction. Seems like the watch should be capable of the same functionality, especially when there is a reverse course option.

+1 here. I tried today to do a course in reverse but I didn't have turn-by-turn nor (which is more important to me) the ClimbPro indication of coming-up ascents.

BTW I do not have Instinct, but Fenix 6...

It does not work - I guess turn by turn metadata is added by garmin connect. Same goes for elevation profile (reversed course will show constant elevation).

I can't find this on android mobile app - is it only in web version? Not a big issue for me, since locus maps allows reversing courses just fine

I suppose that any watch simply resign to navigate turn-by-turn in reverse. It would be necessary to translate "Turn to left" to "Turn to right", "Dangerous descent" to "Dangerous climb" etc. Artificial intelligence would be necessary for this task.
