Good evening, I am here for a couple of troubles that came out about the time I upgraded to firmware 6.60.
I bought a Garmin instinct in June 2019 ( I also sell them in our shop), been pretty satisfied with everything, used it for running, biking, swimming, climbing etc.. without any problem for 7 months, till a couple of weeks ago when both heart rate and altimeter went far off reality. I am aware of some flaw in altimeter readings and that the wrist heart rate is not very accurate, but since about the last firmware 6.60 update heart rate reads total wrong numbers, at worst to about 40 bps higher or lower then the real rate, I tried the exact same cardio training at home: one day it counted 200cals and the second day 420cals. It is incorrect both during activity that not in activity. Other thing, is that the altimeter reads unreal altitudes, even staying in my home or in the garden( I live at sea level), during activity and out of activity, auto calibration ON and often calibrated manually by GPS and DEM, it can go -100 meters below sea level or +100 more than reality. Is it possible that it's just the firmware update? (I already tried 6.91 beta but same results and now back to 6.60. The watch was perfect till the end of 2019! Another thing to mention if can help, is that heart rate sensor was quite fast at picking up the rate when dressed( no more then 10 seconds), now I have to wait even 45 seconds after wearing it before getting heart readings. Sorry for my english and sorry if there was already a similar thread, I did not find it. Thanks in advance, Simone.
