Why should I spend so much money on a Garmin Instinct that isn't even accurate with something simple like the weather? I am frankly quite disappointed by my watch and with Garmin which I thought was a reputable brand.

What's funny?
Not sure what it was for others, for me there it is especially this: you wrote "Why should I spend so much money on a Garmin" - personally I bought my Instinct almost a year ago for…
Are you biking?
I don't think so, because instinct is very bad in biking.
I do, and if you know how to care about the device, and how to prevent inexpected reading (washing the watch…
Don't really get the joke

Not sure what it was for others, for me there it is especially this: you wrote "Why should I spend so much money on a Garmin" - personally I bought my Instinct almost a year ago for 200€ and it was one of the cheapest models of smart watches on the market. Probably the best buy I did in years. I consider the price very low for the multitude of features, and especailly for the roughness it offers. It easily beats models many hundreds of euros or dollars more expensive.
The weather forecast is not done by the watch, it comes from the weather service of the phone (a system service in no relation to Garmin). Certainly they could have chosen a better way, using a configurable weather service provider, that would bypass the dependance on the phone's OS, but if it is really the only thing that you bought Instinct for, then you probably did not buy the right watch for you.
Anyway, if you really want to have reliable weather reports on Garmin Instinct, and the system data it gets from your phone, does not meet your expectations, just install a weather app of you choice on the phone, and have it sending the forecasts as notifications to Garmin Instinct.
The Garmin Instinct is an incredible device. So many features. And I find everything it does quite accurate. It gets stellar reviews everywhere. Better reviews than their higher priced Fenix. And for good reason.

The easy answer is...you shouldn’t. Your next complaint will be how the holes in the band aren’t good enough OR how someone should buy Suunto or Coros because that’s the company you work for

Especialy the altitude up and down is about the half of the right one.
This was a topic last year, but nothing is better now with 6.91.

I do, and if you know how to care about the device, and how to prevent inexpected reading (washing the watch after each use, keeping it free of debris and sweat also during the activity, protecting it from gusts of wind), the elevation reading is all right. And even if it should fail for any reason, you can simply activate the Elevation Correction in Garmin Connect to replace the barimetric altimer data with topographic elevation.
I know about the device, because I have made the adaptor.
Now I have a new instinct and the ride today was very bad, as I told.
I know the Elevation Correction in Garmin Connect, but if I bike I would like the see the right alititude just now and not later in Garmin Connect.
