I believe it is quite fitting for an outdoor watch. Lots of outdoorsy people takie pictures when doing their thing, many of those pictures are only possible with a remote shutter.

Wouldn't you end up with a bunch of pics of yourself looking at your watch pressing a button? You can go to Garmin's product suggestions site and suggest it.

Sounds like a perfect feature for fifty models of watch that aren’t Instinct. Just my .02.
