weather widget inaccuracy

Hi,

does anyone know how the weather widget works? I read that it gets data from the default weather app on the phone but somehow it seems to be incorrect for me.
My phone has only one weather app on that was there from the start and that one says its like 1-2 degrees and snow (which i can see outside as well) while the widget gives me 7 degrees, rain and 40km/h wind. Garmin connect has location permission location services are on on the phone and everything is connected. can i somehow set this up correctly?

Thanks for the answers!

This is incorrect. Depending on your location, GCM retrieves the information based on weather stations in your area. It has nothing to do with the applications on your phone.

Thanks for the answer. In the end what helped yesterday was making instinct fire up the gps and get its own location. Then it got the relevant data and the fact that the phone itself had its exact location didn't help. Unsure whether this is intended or not but at least i know how to solve it.
