Garmin Instinct Iphone text Notifications

I just got my Garmin Instinct and so far I really like but I am having one issue my text message notifications aren’t coming through. I have an iPhone XR, all other notifications including phone calls are coming through! I’ve reset it, turned on/off Bluetooth, and re-paired. Anybody have any suggestions or am I just just missing that iPhone texts don’t display on the instinct?

Try doing a complete unpair/pair using the steps in this video. Followed by restarting both the phone and your Garmin device.

On the lock screen of my phone the text/iMessage preview was switched off. So instead of previewing part of the message on my iPhone lock screen all it said was “text message”. Once I turned it to preview message in the phone settings it worked fine.

Thank you. I did this. I still get all notifications (including phone calls) except text messages.

For anyone still looking for the solution to this problem

I had not been received texts, and changed the following setting in iOS, and now I received texts:

iOS > Settings > Notifications > Messages > Notifications > Show Previews > Always (Default)

Unfortunately it seems like it also means that fulll message text will show elsehwere as well.
