I'm going to clear this post up so the directions make sense, I'm sure there are a lot of people who end up here looking for directions on how to setup your Garmin Instinct so that it DOES NOT VIBRATE…
Did you use the Do Not Disturb command in the Quick Menu (long-press the light button / CTRL), or did you use Settings » Phone » Notifications » During Activity and Not During Activity? Or did you just…
Do you have it set at: Phone/Smart Notifications/Not During Activity (or during)/Sounds/Tone only?
Did you use the Do Not Disturb command in the Quick Menu (long-press the light button / CTRL), or did you use Settings » Phone » Notifications » During Activity and Not During Activity? Or did you just turn off Vibration in Settings » System » Sounds? That one, I beleive, is just for alerts (like HR alerts, pace alerts, etc), not for the notifications.
I turned of vibration in the settings menu. Yesterday it did not vibrate at any alerts, but this morning it vibrated on everything, even if it is turned off. I turned on Do not disturb now and it has stopped vibrating.
I turned of vibration yesterday and it did work just fine for all alerts, this morning it vibrated on every alert when it is turned off. I turned on Do not disturb now and it works just fine, but the screen de not light up when i get an alert
Smart Notifications during activity with sound only
this was what i did wrong, thank you
I'm going to clear this post up so the directions make sense, I'm sure there are a lot of people who end up here looking for directions on how to setup your Garmin Instinct so that it DOES NOT VIBRATE when getting notifications from your phone (Calls,Texts) but still displays the text icon.
You do not need to turn on do not disturb (which also shuts off the gesture light function that turns on the light when you turn your wrist to see the watch face) to disable the vibration function. Follow the steps below:
From the main/default/home screen HOLD the Menu/Up button -->Settings-->Phone-->Smart Notifications
Two options DURING activiity and NOT DURING activity. Set them both the same way
DURING/NOT DURIUNG (Select one and then the other) -->Sounds-->Silent
This setup will show a icon when you get a text but will not vibrate.
This setup will not show a icon when you get a text but will not vibrate.
I thought the object of this exercise was to SHOW an icon, but not vibrate...
Typo. Corrected the verbage. Thanks for spotting
I created an account just to upvote this response. I have been trying to figure this out for weeks. Thank you friend.
