Hi. Just got an Instinct for Christmas, and so far love it.
Can someone tell me exactly what the "Tactical" activity is supposed to be tho?
I haven't been able to figure that one out.
Thanks,
John

Yeah, as the name implies, the tactical activity is meant for those military guys, that don't do any sport, but just run around in unknown terrain and want to know where they are all the time.
This is especially great for some jobs in different branches that do similar things and talk to each other on the radio, but use different reference systems. I was Army and we used MGRS. However, we frequently…
That's it?
The screens for that are pace/timer, map, dual GPS coords, zone, etc.
Is "Tactical" just a generic activity tracker then? Hike, run, etc. but just shows coords as well?
Thanks…
You can display two sets of GPS coordinates on the watch, similar to the tactix on DCR´s picture:

So I guess this is what I'd choose when running my next Spartan race!
thanks.
The dual coordinate display is also useful as Military frequently switch between decimal degrees and GRID coordinates.
Does anybody know how to change the coordinate display? I'd like to see decimal degrees and grid coordinates but can currently only see decimal degrees and decimal degrees.

However, we frequently talked to Air Force Pilots and Combat Controllers, who use the Decimal system. Rather than having somebody having some translation to do, it was nice to just be able to tell them where I was.
Can you explain how to display the different coordinate formats?
I have the Fenix 5. I've opened the "tactical" activity activity it displays my coordinates, but in the same decimal format. I'd like to change one to read out MGRS
