Temperature Inaccurate?

Hi,

In a swimming pool it was 25°C which my Instinct measured correctly, but then I went to a sauna and there it was 85°C but my Instinct only showed 35°C even after waiting for a while. Why is this? It seems to measure correctly in water though. Is it because of the evaporation from my wrist when I'm in the sauna?

The temperature sensor is needed for the barometric altimeter. It's reading the internal temperature of your watch and not ambient temperature of the sauna.

Oh ok, but why is it accurate under water then? And why would someone care about the internal temperature of the watch?

The watch can be removed and set down to record ambient temperature where your body temperature won't affect it. Don't really know why it was more precise in the water than in the sauna.
