Variometer On Instinct

Hi,

I wonder if there is a way of using the Instinct as a variometer while paragliding. I know you can use metronome on different activities. Is there a setting (maybe in the climb activity) to use the metronome as a variometer? I haven't find a way for it.

You could use the Vertical Speed Data Field on the Instinct as a VSI, but there is no substitute for a Variometer. Of course, the big caveat is that the rate of response for the Instinct is not up to the task of being used as a legitimate flight instrument - fun to look at, but don't bet your life on it.

I do use Vertical Speed for trail running - toghether with pendence. The rate of response is pretty low, around 30 sec I think (but I'm not sure).
