Shampoo on Instinct

Hi,

I wonder if you shall take off your watch before using shampoo. Can it get in to sensors like the thermometer and prevent it from reading accurate? Should you rinse the watch with water and then dry it with a hair dryer if shampoo get on the watch?

I wear my instinct in the shower. and never had any issues with soap/shampoo or whatever. Perfect time to take it off and give it a good scrub as well!

Garmin recommends placing your watch in warm soapy water to clean the barometer port. As long as you rinse the watch well, it is not going to be a problem with showering or shampoo. I shower twice daily…

Thank you TMK17 for making that point. I would also suggest to friends and family to wash their device with soapy water. How much truthfully matters on you, how much you sweat and what type of activities…

You got to be joking right? Why would you wear your watch in the shower or using shampoo (or maybe you like wearing your watch in the bath). Just take your watch off and but it back on afterwards, that would stop any worries you might have in the future, and never wear it while your washing up the dishes in hot water lol.

Shampoo is not used by many military, this is why their hairs are cut short.
So logically it has not been tested on the Instinct... Logically. ;-)

Thank you TMK17 for making that point. I would also suggest to friends and family to wash their device with soapy water. How much truthfully matters on you, how much you sweat and what type of activities you are doing. Also, another fact to point out is that it is also important to dry off the area between your watch and skin. I personally wear my watches tight, so that area does not get much air to breathe and air dry.

Okay, thx for the answer. How do I know where the baro sensor is located on my Instinct?. I couldn't find any image showing the location of each sensor.
