Garmin Instinct Keeps resetting steps when syncing with Garmin Connect

Just like the title states. My Instinct keeps resetting my steps when I sync with Garmin Connect. everything else seems to be fine and keep its data. Anyone else having a similar issue? Any thoughts as to how I can fix the issue?
