Surfing with the Instinct?

Is anyone using their instinct when they go surfing? I don't think it would be that hard of an activity for the Garmin team to add since we already have support for swimming, etc.

What would this activity track outside of time, HR and calories? Does the Instinct have the "Other" or "Cardio" activity app you can select and then edit the activity type afterwards? I don't surf or own an Instinct that's why I'm asking. You can also try the link below:

  • I often surf with my instinct while using the SUP activity tracker. This tracks strokes and location and other data but it's not ideal for surfing. It does not give me a wave count oror differentiate between waves and paddling on the GPS map. I tried to create my own surfing activity but it didn't work well. I'm sure a surf specific activity could easily be created by the Garmin team. I know there are some surf activity apps available for download by Fenix and other version owners.

Speaking about surfing with the Instinct the biggest lack of the watch is a tide graph! It could be usefull also for other activities like fishing...
The watch has all the necessary info (moon age and the GPS info)
I would be happy to have a simple tide graph based only on the moon age with the possibility to set manually the time of hight/low tide .
This is possible also on very cheap watches!!!
I'm very sorry for this lack because the rugged and minimal look of the watch makes it perfect for surfing!
