Heart rate problem during activity!

Today I have been in the gym and I have noticed a weird heart rate issue with my watch. During the strength activity, the watch cannot picked up my elevated heart rate just after 50 minutes or so when I finished my training. The avg. heart rate was during activity between 75 -95 and after 50 minutes went up to 115 but I don't think that was an actual heart rate. I had an issue with the heart rate during activity but not as much like now. I'm using the latest beta 2.92 fw. I have tried clean the sensor, tight fit, light fit in my wrist but nothing helped.

If you begin an activity when you are wearing a paired chest strap, your Instinct OHR will turn off and the watch will read only the external source. If you are seeing these "stops" are you always wearing…

I have also 2.92 beta and also made today the strength activity, I have no issues with disruptive HR although my watch was not so tight on my wrist because normally at the end of the training my wrist amplifies and watch than sits very tight.

Same for me at the end of my last two workouts ! Said 165 when I counted 125...

Wrist based HRMs tend to be poor for strength based activities - if you want accuracy get a chest strap

...but I'm talking about running... ! Today again I had my Instinct on my left wrist and another watch on my right wrist, Instinct started to say things rather ridiculous after one hour or so of running (pretended I ran 50 minutes at 170 bpm, wow I'm 42 !! The other watch and my counting said something much more true, say between 120 and 140)... I'm afraid nothing much can be done sadly... :(

lami6895 yes probably not much you can do as wrist based monitoring is very variable between different people and activities and devices. What was the other watch you were using? Also be interesting to see if you did the same test again but with the watches swapped over to the other wrist whethe you got the same results.

JSRUNNER_ My other watch was an Apple Watch 4, and I tomorrow will do the test with my Instinct on the wrist and let you know for the record... Thks for your reply!

Well, I understand chest strap is better for accuracy but don't tell me 280£ watch is less accurate than a 20£ band. I have used Mi Band 2 and Mi Band 3 and I didn't have that issue. Example today my heart rate suddenly dropped from 150bpm to 72 bpm in 2 - 5 seconds, I was like wtf! I don't think this behaviour is normal.

same here. my mi band 2 was more accurate than my Fenix 5
