Wrong counting turnovers in swimming pool - please correct the algorithm

Swimming mode - algorithm or sensitivity of sensors is not setup correctly - Instinct increase the number of turnovers during swimming - the value is increased even during straight swimming length. My swimming pool is 25m. Result is that instead 1.400 m counts f.e. 1850m. What is your experience? Thank you.

  • the algorithm works good because mine counts my swims correct and it doesn't matter what style I swim and recognizes it well. You should improve your technique because the more apparently you make turns the more correct it will be. If your turns not plainly and you swim with different speed in one turn (25m) than it counts that you make a turn in the middle of the pool when your speed not enough is. Also your strokes should be precise, clear and quick because instinct uses accelerometer to recognize your strokes/turns/style
  • Well this could be a reason, but if I use the Moov Now fitness tracker everything is OK. So it shows me that there is a large space how to improve the accuracy behavior also of Instinct in that case ...
  • It seems to me that accuracy is horrible now. The real distance is 1600 m (also on Moov tracker) but on Instinct is 2550 meters. Not usable.

  • Here are tips for swimming - Instinct Swimming. In my experiences working with customers swimming, the distance accuracy is improved by the technique used when turning at the end of each lap.

For best results, push off the wall, staying underwater swimming, and come up naturally to finish your lap. Your watch sensors are expecting certain movement to properly register your laps.
