Instinct crashing during activities

Has anyone with a Garmin Instinct running firmware 2.60 experienced the watch crashing/rebooting during activities? This is increasingly happening to me and has happened during Stairclimber (no GPS) and Hiking (GPS) activities. This is really annoying, especially on hikes, because I have to keep checking my watch just to make sure it hasn't reset and stopped tracking. I just did Angels Landing at Zion and had it reboot 3 times!

I tried connecting my watch to my Mac with Garmin Express just in case it might be have differently... 90% of the time, it shows the USB mode screen (the other 10% of the time, it reboots)... The computer never finds it as a USB mass storage device. Garmin Express never finds it either. When I unplug the USB cable, the watch reboots.
  • I have reset my Instinct with 2.60 and this hasn't helped with unexpected reboots but I installed 2.76 Beta two days ago and tested today my Strength training and could edit all my reps and weight during training today without any reboot!
  • for info: the same unexpected reboots during strength activities with 2.77. I have reverted to 2.76 (through 2.60) to keep my strength workouts working. I have reported this issue by E-Mail

When I asked for a replacement under warranty, they said it would be easier to get a refund/exchange from the retailer!

Have you managed to replace your watch. If so does your new one have these crashes/reboots?
  • It happened to me too, this is how I solve this issue.

Disable vibration, System->sound>vibration off, then the watch crash no more.

I think the battery can't deliver the voltage needed, It crash right i at the time I completed a lap, it beeped and vibrated and then crash.
