Sync problems with Connect

I have asked the same question to Garmin Support, but I post it there too. Maybe someone has the same problem.

Some of the sync features between Connect (web-based) and my Instinct do not work. In particular:

1. Connect does not visualize the correct version of the Instinct and suggests me to update. In particular, Connect visualize v2.10 and suggest update to v2.60. However, on Garmin Express the version is 2.60 and no update is obviously possible.

2. Most important. I am unable to send a training created on Connect to my Instinct. On Connect, I have created the training and I have sent it to my Instinct. Garmin Express correctly opens up, says "completed syncronization" but I am not able to find any training into the Instinct.

  • Not sure if this is the same problem, but I cannot upload courses via the mobile connect app anymore. Cable and PC still works. The mobile app does not respond to me selecting the Instinct after I select to send the course to a device. It still shows as connected, but no response when selected. I have updated the firmware to the latest beta. I know this function worked before, not sure if due to new firmware?

  • So, I managed to use Garmin Express on Windows (v6.10).
    Now Garmin Connect correctly sees the software version of my Instinct (v2.60) but I am still unable to send a training to my Instinct. I also tried to delete and recreate the Training but nothing.
    Basically, Connect asks me to select the device, then to launch Express. Express correctly starts, syncronize, but nothing.
    My opinion (not sure) Connects does not recognize Express: it says to me "If express does not start, open it manually".
    Still no response from Garmin (but, hey, just two working days have passed, I know the reply time is 3 to 5).
