  • The weather app needs major updating, is there a way to get weather without connecting to the internet? (with out being connected to a smart phone?)

Why only a few hours of weather? why not at least 8 or 12 hours?

Please make the weather part more robust

  • These watches collect various information based on cell towers/weather stations around you to obtain weather information. They rely on a connection with your cell phone to get this information.

These watches don’t have a cellular chip, so there is no way to change that.

I posted this in the suggestion thread too.The sleep monitoring needs some sort of shift worker mode, where it can assume you could be sleeping at any time during a 24hr period. At present I have to set my normal sleeping hours every time I change shifts. I know, first world problem.

could you please update the Tempe widget? Can you make it so I see the watch temp as well as view the data from the Tempe accessory?
Currently the temp widget doesn't display and takes a while to connect.

Yes, I'd like to have such update too to increase Instinct functionality, would be much appreciated.
  • Hi all,

unfortunately I tried to change to the Beta version and it just does not work, probably because I have a HK model ( APAC ). The file just is copied correctly but nothing happends when the watch is diconnected, and when reconnected the file is gone...Feel a bit cheated by Garmin there for APAC limitations...for the smae price as a ROW watch.

Does anyone know when the next official firmware including the moon widget will be available, for us APAC watch owners ??
Iam even considering buying another one in US or EU to be able to play with beta upgrades...

Other than that the watch is great fun toplay with, my first Garmin, coming for 3 years of Suunto Traverse Alpha, which I still consider one pf the best due to its simplicity of handling, but with some limitations.

It is great to be able to upload a route COMPLETELY offline using Garmin Explore straight to the watch. Love it

    Cheers Pierre

Hi having loaded the new Beta Firmware I am finding that the Instinct watch will still not navigate a course correctly, I have sent courses to the watch created in both the Explore App and Connect but when you select them to Navigate although the course line displays fine the watch will not move past the first marked point on the route, i.e none of the ETA, ETE, data boxes will display anything, the pointer whether set as Bearing or course will transition past the first point also the elevation line is flat when navigating a course, I have seen some other instinct users reporting the same issues on other parts of the forum.
Look forward to a firmware update to sort out this issue and am looking forward to testing out the navigation course feature properly once this function is working correctly.
Great that you are releasing Beta firmware for us, so far apart from the frustration of the navigate course not working all other features of the watch are great.

I had the same problem. For me routes works only if I set map-orientation-track up. If I set orientation to "north up" I have the same problem as you. I hope they fix it in future updates!

Having just changed from the Fenix 5 to the Instinct (both running the beta software), the Fenix would behave how you described once I'd dragged the file over to the watch folder and disconnected it from my computer. However this doesn't seem to happen for me with the Instinct.
My work around was this: Hold MENU, and select Settings > System, then scroll to 'Software Update'.

    Hope this helps?
  • dav.dc thanks for the info.
I have swapped my instinct with a HK fellow Instinct user who wasneeding the chinese version so he could have the chinese language on his watch notifications.
So I now have a ROW model where I can use french ( 'cause I am french ! ) and all is good now.
    Cheers
  • Et ça, c'est même plutôt cool comme histoire !! Pile poil pour noel en plus ! ;-)
