    Hi All!

I am not sure if this is the right topic but I haven't found any other relevant one.
I've just bought the Garmin Tempe temp. sensor, paired it to my Instinct and was dissapointed to find out
that the sensor keeps connection with Instinct only for circa a minute then get disconnected.

So to check the temp. readings again I need to manually reconnect it which is very unhandy
and may take up to a minute.

I am wondering if there a way to somehow keep Tempe connected as long as needed?
Maybe via Software update in the future or I don't know?
If not then Tempe for me is almost useless in pair with Instinct.

    Thanks and greetings!

The Tempe sensor will disconnect if the Instinct is not running an APP which uses the Tempe. If you start an APP with no GPS, nothing but the Tempe sensor, the Tempe sensor will stay connected (and recording Temp data) as long as the APP is running.

If you start an APP with no GPS,

Thank you for the heads-up - for Instinct the built-in indoor APP like Treadmill for example? I will try it out.

GPS can be on or off, it's not the use of GPS that makes the difference - I was just suggesting not using GPS in order to save battery life when running the App since you would most probably be running the App in the background while gathering Temp data.

Please post up how your test goes.

Hello, the temp sensor needs to be running an app, as Gaijin says, otherwise it will turn off. You can use Treadmill.

    A greeting.

So far so good :) - even better than I expected first as you don't need to connect Tempe first.
Once you start activity the sensor just get connected automatically as long as BT on your Instinct is on.
The temp. screen shows only the current temp. reading, min/max values, no graphs etc.

I wish they might be a temp. graph like that for pressure but I understand that there is no specially app to show it.

The only thing I don't get yet is min/max values - how can they be reset?

Just in case: Placed the Tempe outside the window - it took it 24 mins to cool down from +22C
    to Minus 4.0C.

Shouldn't the temperature on the main screen in the little bulb update to the Tempe temperature?
And do I need to press start on a background app and keep it running to get the Tempe temperature?

I have tried a few times to copy the file to the folder of Garmin while connectin to my MacBook, and unplugged afterward, but there's no prompt about the update pops...
    quite confused
