Stopwatch mode update asked -> To avoid being blocked while it is running...

Hello Garmin,

I love my new instinct and I even prefer it to my huge and heavy Fenix 5X Plus...
The display is stunning: great work !

But...
...when the stopwatch is running the "set" keys is used for laps.
->you cannot go back to the Time Display.
Meaning you are "blocked" in the stopwatch mode until you don't use it.

So I cannot time flight times or anything requiring leaving that stopwatch mode...

Any possibility for a next update ?

Thank you.

EDIT:
Actually I have found something.
While in the SET menu with alarm timing and stopwatch I can go back and leave the Stopwatch mode by pushing the SET button for a longer time.

BTW I love the new ergos and the design/ animation. Really !! This is a brilliant watch !! :-)

EDIT part two:
And yes a long press on SET works great and when on time display a long press on SET and you can have a glance to the stopwatch without "entering" in it. Then another short press and you are back to time display: this is useful !!

I can't get out of the stopwatch function by pressing the 'Set' button for a long time.  Can't find any way out of it but still leaving it run.  But my $12 Casio can.  Slight smile

  • Try again. When you start the stop watch, you can use the Set button for laps. It is on the white background. When you press-long the Set button, you exit the lap-mode and the stopwatch continues to run on a black background. Now you can press (short) the Set button again to come back where you originally were. Pressing-long the Set button again, you come back to the still running stopwatch, from anywhere.
